A radical sign of the love of God.
Principles of life

The Principles of life of the consecrated sisters in the Emmanuel Community

Adoration and praise are the foundation of their everyday life.

  • They commit themselves to a prayer time of two hours per day, as much as their professional activity would allow them.
  • They intercede everyday for the Church, the community and its missions
  • Each one of them makes an annual retreat.
  • They encourage each other, along with the members of the Emmanuel Community, to live in joy and hope.
  • They have an active and responsible life, be it in the professional or apostolic life.
  • They choose to have a simple life.
  • They make themselves available for any service, even the humblest.
  • They submit themselves with trust to the local government of the community.

The common dress (white top, dark blue skirt and a wooden cross) is the sign of their consecration for them and for the world.
White is the sign of the Kingdom to which they have consecrated their life.
Blue is the colour of Mary and of service.
The cross is the greatest sign of the love of Jesus.
Upon the initiative of the designated person for the service of consecrated life, they meet together regularly for a fraternal time of formation.

At the moment of commitment to celibacy for the Kingdom, they receive their mission from the moderator, the person in-charge of the Emmanuel Community.
