The Moderator of the Emmanuel Community is Laurent Landete.

He was elected on 12 July 2009 for three years by the International Council of the Community. This father of six children is a nurse in Bordeaux. Until now he has been the Moderator for France, responsible especially for the summer sessions at Paray-le Monial. He succeeds Dominique Vermersch - professor of economics and ethics at the Agrocampus Ouest - who has come to the end of his three possible consecutive terms of office.

Role of the Moderator

The Moderator assures the proper working of the Community. He encourages the life of holiness, and co-ordinates community life and evangelisation. He represents the Community before religious and civil authorities. He presides at meetings of the International Council. With the International Council, he supervises the provinces.
